If you would like your own hive to produce honey from your own neighborhood, I can sell you ‘nuc’ colonies (four frames of bees with a queen to put into your own hive) or a whole hive setup. Spring is the best time to purchase. Please contact me if you would like to purchase. Prices vary from season to season, but market prices for a 4-frame nuc are around $250, and a single box hive will be around $380.
New to beekeeping? I recommend you join your local beekeeping club for advice and support, and buy the book “Practical Beekeeping in New Zealand”, which is worth around $40.
